Port McNeill to Campbell River - Vancouver Island

We did a walking tour of the island tasting some of the many coloured berries growing along the roadside as we went. The island seems divided with this end (shown below) being where the 'westerners' live and the other end where the First Nation people live. I think the effects of the days of the Residential school are still felt today. We passed some of the locals BBQ-ing and smoking salmon on the beach as we headed for the U'Mista Cultural Society Centre which is an Intrerpretive Centre certainly worth visiting.
