Yoho National Park, British Columbia

In this area, Cambrian-age (515-million-year-old) fossil beds on Mt Stephen, Mt Field. and Mt Wapta preserve the remains of marine creatures that were some of the earliest forms of life on earth. You can only get to the fossil beds by guided hikes from Field as access and entry into these areas is prohibited. Time was running short for us, so this would also have to wait for next trip. The photo below shows more of the fabulous scenery as we headed east again back towards Alberta.
