We drove out to the gorges. Standley Chasm is one of the more popular walks in the area. They also have a restaurant, picnic area and carpark there. Standley Chasm was named in honour of Ida Standley, Alice Springs first teacher who worked at the nearby Jay Creek settlement around 1928.
