Fairbanks and Arctic Circle, Alaska

The trip included donuts and coffee which we snacked on while we cruised down the Chena River and yummy (they call it gourmet) smoked salmon and crackers on the way back. This house was made of large logs which seemed a pretty popular building material in Alaska. They had a powerboat but also an airboat moored at their jetty. I guess a flat-bottomed boat with an aircraft-type propeller can get you places in the many shallow rocky rivers we saw on the way to Fairbanks.
