UK and Europe Roadtrip - Altdorf

Altdorf is a municipality in Switzerland, the capital of the Swiss canton of Uri. It has historic town privileges dating back to the 1200s although people lived here centuries before that. The grave of an armed horseman (dated around 680) is in St Martin's Church. This is Fremdenspital, an Old Foreign Hospital that dates back to 1437. It is now Altdorf's administration centre.
