UK and Europe Roadtrip - Belgium Beaches

Dunkirk is part of France but East Dunkirk Beach (Oostduinkerke) is in Belgium, just 20km along the coast. The beaches in Belgium and north east of Dunkirk may be important as tourist destinations today but they remind me of the 400000 allied soldiers that were mass-evacuated during WW11.
