They had a suspended lookout in the centre of the city jutting out over the houses. There was a great view from there across to the vary large black Asenevtsi Monument. The upward sword and horses symbolize the medieval power of Bulgaria. It is near the Stambolov Bridge at the foot of Mount Athos. Select the photo below to see it better.
