Middle Lagoon, Dampier Peninsula

The Dampier Peninsula is predominantly Aboriginal land but some areas have been opened up to tourism. Beagle Bay is about half way up the Dampier Peninsula on the Cape Leveque Road (this first part of the road is the worst part and takes the longest). Beagle Bay is well known for the Sacred Heart Church with its pearl shell interior built by monks and the Aborginal people of this area in 1917.
