Hawkes Bay to Rotorua, New Zealand

This mud volcano is growing very slowly. Every couple of months the top of the volcano goes hard and over a two to three day period the pressure builds up causing the top mud layer to erupt, ejecting mud similar to lava bombs, over a 5m wide diameter. It didn't happen while I was standing there luckily! Select the photo below to see the volcano up closer.
