Queenstown to Haast Pass, New Zealand

The drive along the Glenorchy- Queenstown Road was very picturesque as we passed Sunshine Bay then a quick stop here at Wilson Bay. We were never far from Lake Wakatipu for the majority of the drive as we passed Mt Creighton, Pig Island and Pigeon Island. The island's predators have been eradicated by the Department of Conservation, so a number of native birds have returned or been reintroduced to the island. If we had our canoe I know we would love to put it in here and paddle to this interesting looking island.
