You can see two 'caves' in the terminal face of Fox Glacier. Two men were crushed under 100 tonnes of ice in 2009 when the face of the glacier collapsed. They had apparently gone over the safety barriers to get a better look at the caves and terminal face which was weakened by the melt water running out under the glacier.
