Punakaiki to GoldenBay, South Island, New Zealand

The walking track goes around 3 sides of this large Punakaiki blow hole so you can see the sea surging in and out with each wave from all angles. Unfortunately we were not there at high tide so the blow hole was not as visually impressive as it could have been, it still 'thumped' loudly as the water hit the back of the cavern. We tossed up whether or not to stay an extra day to see it at high tide but decided to keep moving.   Select the photo below to see more of this area.
