Punakaiki to GoldenBay, South Island, New Zealand

We turned off at the ViewPoint Sign as we crossed the Hope Saddle. The lookout gives a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside including Kahurangi National Park.  This park is one of New Zealand's newest national parks, created in 1996, and is also the second largest. Kahurangi National Park has The Heaphy Track, the longest of the DOC Great Walks at 78.4 kilometres.
