Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

As we looked back down the spit we could see the rain coming and the wind was picking up. We zipped up everything we could and were very thankful we had sunglasses on to protect our eyes from the blowing sand. We put our heads down, hats on very tight and leaned into the wind and rain as we trudged up the beach feeling like we were antarctic explorers making our way through a snow storm. It was an unbelievable experience especially since only minutes before it was a pleasant day! Once we got up to the end of this beach magically the rain and wind stopped.
