Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

The Devil's Boots sounded interesting so we turned off  the main road near Collingwood towards Rockville (aptly named) to see these strange rock formations. They are weathered limestone that look like upside-down boots with trees growing out of them at odd angles... interesting. There is a walk in this area that goes through the old Aorere Goldfields where NZ had its first gold rush around the 1850s. Select the photo below to see this area from another perspective.
