Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

Wainui Bay is the last stop before Abel Tasman National Park. Taupo Point, seen here in the distance, has an old Pa (Maori Fort) that you can take a 1 hour walk to from Wainui Beach (another for next time). We watched some 'learner' wind surfers making the most of the low tide to get the hang of the sport. Unfortunately one got blown into the rocks and had to be rescued by his friends. This is a very peaceful part of New Zealand with no shops and few people.
