Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

We turned left at the winery and went down Redwood Road into the Waimea Estuary at the head of Tasman Bay then across the causeway to Rabbit Island (Moturoa). This large public reserve and picnic area is only open during daylight hours. From the northern beach of Rabbit Island we could see across to Nelson just 15 minutes away.
