There are some impressive buildings to see in Catherine Park as well. Right beside the Great Pond are the Dutch-style boathouses known as the Admiralty. At the centre of the lake there is a small island where they have built a hall once used for concerts. Next to it is the tall Chesma Column built to commemorate naval victories in the Russo-Turkish War.
