Shark Bay, Peron Peninsula

A board walk has been constructed to protect the stomatolites growing up to the high tide mark in Hamelin Bay. They look like living rocks - have a closer look. Living microbes build the stromatolites which are one of the earliest lifeforms known. Stromatolites are only found in a couple of places on Earth.
