UK and Europe Roadtrip - Gyor, Hungary

The jewish community thrived from the 1800s until the 1930s when many could see that it was safer to leave the region altogether. Nazi Germany occupied Hungary including Győr in 1944. The Jews were all ordered to gather in the city's ghetto and then were deported to Auschwitz. Sadly this happened in many towns in Europe. Select the photo below to see more of Gyor.
