UK and Europe Roadtrip - KomaromThis is the Petofi Sandor school named after one of Hungary's famous poets. We could not work out what the stones were about? Komárom has been populated since before Roman times but got town privilegies in the 1200s (hence the 750 year memorial). In 1920 after the Trianon treaty of WW1, the town became separated. The southern part, Komárom is part of Hungary and the northern part, Komárno, is part of Slovakia. Previous | Album | Next |
