Tasmania Roadtrip - Beaconsfield

Next morning we drove north up the west side of the Tamar. The town of Beaconsfield has a long history of mining and the best place to find out all about that is at the Mining Museum. Gold was first discovered in Beaconsfield in 1847 but by 2012 the cost of getting it out of the ground became too high so the mine was closed.
