Tasmania Roadtrip - Cataract Gorge

The Giant Sequoia tree (also known ar the Sierra Redwood) was germinated in 1894 and now stands over 40m high. It can live for over 3000 years and grow up to 85m tall. We crossed the Alexandra Suspension Bridge and were surprised by the patterns in the rocks at one end (top right). This alumina silicate crystal formation is quite rare and formed as the magma cooled creating these dolerite rocks.
