UK and Europe Roadtrip - Arundel Castle

Arundel Castle overlooks the River Arun and is the historic seat of the Dukes of Norfolk. Its oldest features are the motte constructed in 1068 and the gatehouse in 1070. During the Civil War in the 1640s, the Castle was badly damaged when it was besieged by Royalists then by Cromwell's Parliamentarian force led by William Waller.
