The main function of the original Cochem Castle, that was built in the 1100s, was to collect tolls from passing ships. It was rebuilt in the 1870s and now looks like a fairytale castle with its four-storey octagonal tower perched high on the hill above the town. Select the photo below to see more of Cochem.
