South Island New Zealand

The beaches were very rocky once more and I guess that is the way the seals like it as we saw quite a few of them sunbaking on the rocks. We wondered what all the splashing was near these tourist boats, then realised it was about 30 dolphins leaping out of the water. The boats were dropping off swimmers in wetsuits who floated with the current past the Dusky dolphins. Both dolphins and swimmers seemed to be having a great time! Select the photo to see them up a bit closer. You can see one dolphin in the photo that has jumped totally out of the water and about to splash back down. They did this for ages while quite a crowd built up on the edge of the road watching them. I am told this happens every day!
