South Island New Zealand

We visited Kaikora Seal Colony at Point Kean and wandered along the Peninsula Walkway. You can park right next to the colony and the seals are obviously very used to people. Select the photo to see another seal up close.

On our way back from the point we stopped at the coffee van for lunch and had a special New Zealand favourite - whitebait fritters. They were great! We also tried paua patties and crayfish patties which were unusual but quite yummy too.  One thing we missed just north of here which we only found out about later was Saw-cut Gorge Walk. Maybe one for next time!
