Haast to Greymouth, New Zealand

Sitting on one of the pieces of art, I watched as a few guys seemed to be panning for gold on the beach. It looked like they were pretty well set up and that it was a regular activity. I guess this town was founded on gold mining so there is every chance gold washes down the Hokitika River and up onto the beach here.
