Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

After walking for a few km along the protected inside of the spit (no wind, no waves) we took a track, less than 1km, across to the outside beach which is pounded by the Tasman Sea with driving winds blowing the sand across the dunes.  Select the photo below to see more of this area.
