Tasmania Roadtrip - Low Head Lighthouse

There were significant hazards for ships entering the Tamar River ever since European settlement at George Town in 1804. The original Low Head Lighthouse was built in the 1830s and powered by 25 whale oil lanterns. This one replaced it in 1888. A fog alarm was installed in 1929, since restored and operated now each Sunday.
