Tasmania Roadtrip - Low Head

You can see many small burrows down from the Low Head lighhouse where the little penguin colony comes to moult or raise their young. Many are moulting at the moment and stay ashore for around 17 days to do that. They can't go out to sea to eat during moult as they aren't waterproof so they try to double their body weight before it starts.
