Tasmania Roadtrip - Highland Lakes

Great Lake is the highest lake in Australia at 1034m above sea level. Until Hydro Tasmania drowned Lake Pedder, it was also the largest freshwater lake in the country holding 3178 million cubic metres of water. Trout Fishing is very popular at these Highland Lakes. They first released trout here in 1864.
