Tasmania Roadtrip - Parangana Dam

Parangana Dam is a mini hydro having a single Francis turbine that was commissioned in 2002. It is part of the Mersey-Forth Scheme. Lakes high in the Western Tiers feed the Mersey River and in turn this power station. The same water is used multiple times to generate energy as it flows to the Bass Strait.
