Roadtrip UK and Europe - Norman Tower

We left via the Abbey Gate, the main entrance today, and wandered down the road to see what else we could find in Bury St Edmunds. This is the Norman Tower and Gatehouse which were built by Abbot Anselm in the 1100s to be the main gateway into the abbey precinct. It has a bell tower and was built adjacent the the church of St James. It is at the end of Churchgate Street.
