UK and Europe Roadtrip - Battle Church

St Mary the Virgin Church is Battle's parish church and was built in the very early 1100s once the town had outgrown using Battle Abbey's chapel. The current tower and the chapels were added in the 1400s. The abbey continued to maintain close control of the parish church by appointing its vicar.
