UK and Europe Roadtrip - Trier

Trier is Germany's oldest city, founded during the reign of Roman Emperor Augustus. Many of its buildings have UNESCO World Heritage status. The Romans started building Porta Nigra with huge sandstone blocksĀ in AD 170 so it is amazingly well preserved considering its age. It is no surprise that the Centre of Antiquity in Germany is located here in Trier. Select the photo below to see more.
