Middle Lagoon, Dampier Peninsula

This church was once part of a Catholic Church Mission. The altar is totally covered in mother of pearl shell and other polished shells. The shells decorate the walls, floors, windows, steps, everywhere... it is truly amazing the amount of work that has gone into it. Have a look at one of the side altars which is beautifully decorated too. This church is still in use and they rely on donations to restore the decorative work as required.
